About Us

HISTORY:
The Training for Life in Christ (TLC) Homeschoolers was founded in Fall 1999 with just 5 families. It has grow through the years to nearly 40 families ranging with students from infant through early high school.

PURPOSE:
The TLC Homeschoolers is a group of Christian homeschool families joining together to educate our children for the glory of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Each family shares its resources to benefit others who are also seeking to educate, evangelize, and equip their children through the nuturing environment of the home. The mission of the TLC Homeschoolers is not to be a burden to the homeschool family but to provide encouragement and fellowship as well as educational support. At this time, the TLC Homeschoolers is NOT an umbrella group and therefore is not responsible for the quality or quantity of any home education family curriculum.

STATEMENT OF GROUP DOCTRINE
1) The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God and constitutes completed and final revelation. The Bible, in its original autograph, is without error in whole and in part, including theological concepts as well as geographical and historical details.

2) God has existed from all eternity in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ was God come in human flesh being fully God and fully man, except without sin.

3) All men are in violation of Gods righteous requirements and His holy character both by nature and act, and are therefore under His wrath and just condemnation. The central purpose of the coming of Jesus Christ was to pay the penalty for mans sin through His substitutionary death on the cross, the successful accomplishment of which was attested to by His subsequent visible, bodily resurrection.

4) Salvation is offered as a gift, free to the sinner. This gift must be responded to in individual faith, not trusting in any personal works whatsoever, but in the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ alone.

5) This above Statement of Group Doctrine adopted from Christian Home Educators Network (CHEN, www.chenmd.org) acknowledges that we welcome all Christians and cannot be all inclusive of every point of doctrine held by specific churches or denominations. We ask that member families whole heartedly believe and practice the above basic core beliefs of the Christian faith. We also ask that members do no publicly speak negatively against any particular denomination during TLC meetings and events.

6)If you are unable in good faith to sign the statment of group doctrine, please contact the group leader so we can discuss your concerns.
