TEACHING POSITIONS
Every family is required to teach or co-teach at least one semester for each school year. Please review the Co-op course descriptions above to determine what courses are currently available. There are however two exception to this teaching rule.
Exception One - High School Drop Off
If you have only a middle school and/or high school students, you are welcomed to drop them off for classes. A parent is welcomed to stay in their classes, but under no circumstance are younger children to attend their courses. If we become short on teachers for this age group, this teaching exception may have to be revoked.
Exception Two - Nursery Mom
Little ones have a hard time with the transition of workers, so this position has been designed to help with that problem. Each semester, we are looking for one homeschool mom to attend to our nursery students (2 and under) for 3 hours. This would fulfill your teaching requirement for the school year. For their assigned semester, our nursery mom must report by 9:50am each Friday and be ready to accept babies so teachers and helpers can get to their classes. They would also be required to actively attend to the children by playing with them, coordinating snack, changing diapers, making potty runs, etc. This is NOT a time to read for leisure. Rotating parents will still come in to assist with this class. Our nursery mom would also be responsible for clean up of the nursery after the children are picked up for lunch at 1:00 pm.
